The proposed extension of Illinois Route 53 will pass through the western portion of Mundelein with interchanges planned at Midlothian Road at the south end of the Village and Peterson Road at the north end of the Village.
Metra commuter rail service connects Mundelein with O’Hare International Airport and Chicago to the south and Antioch to the north. The Chicago “loop” is a comfortable one-hour commute by train. Pace bus routes provide public transit service within the area. Mundelein is well situated to access three major airports: O’Hare International Airport (35-minute drive time), Midway Airport (45-minute drive time), and Milwaukee’s Mitchell International Airport (60-minute drive time). Two rail lines, The Wisconsin Central and the EJ&E provide businesses the added dimension of rail transport.
