Vehicle Maintenance Technician

The Village of Mundelein has an opening for a Vehicle Maintenance Technician II in Public Works.  Applicants must have entry-level experience in service and repair of small and large equipment, autos and trucks.  Welding experience a plus.  ASE Certification or completion of Automotive Trade School preferred. 

High school diploma or equivalent required; excellent driving record, Illinois CDL B Drivers License or obtain one within 3 months of employment.

Requires heavy lifting, physical exertion, working in extreme weather conditions, pager duties and overtime hours, including holidays and weekends.  After-hours call back needs, require Lake County residency.  Applicants must have their own mechanics tool set. 

Employment is contingent on the successful completion of a drug screen, random CDL alcohol and drug testing thereafter. 

Starting rate: $20.55 per hour.  Excellent benefits.
