CELEBRATING THE BEST OF MUNDELEIN
The festival includes premier musical performances, food, drinks, a car show, a carnival, a parade, fireworks, activities for kids and adults, and much more.
PARADE - New Route
The parade will be held on Sunday, July 2nd at 2 pm. The parade will form in the Mundelein Metra Station parking lot and will run west on Division Street from the Metra lot to California Avenue, north to Hawley Street, then west to Mundelein High School. The reviewing stand will be set-up on the southeast corner of Lincoln and Division. For more information call Mike Flynn at 847-949-3223.
The Independence Day Fireworks show will be held on July 3rd, 2017 at 9:30 PM
The Mundelein Days Commission has budgeted $18,000 for the 2017 fireworks extravaganza. This amount has remained the same for the past five years. The Mundelein Days fireworks show is funded by the Village from revenue generated by the festival. The primary revenue sources are: business donations, beer/wine sales, vendor entrance fees, and the American Legion. In order to continue to present a high-quality fireworks show, the Commission would like to increase the fireworks budget.
To achieve this goal, the Commission has decided to experiment with “crowd-funding.” The idea is to contract for the $18,000 base fireworks show. Anyone who would like to donate to increase the fireworks budget can contribute whatever amount they would like to a special fireworks account. The fireworks budget will be increased by the amount contributed to the fund. The goal is to raise an additional $2,000 to bring the fireworks budget to $20,000.
