CERT Training

January 20, 2018

Do you know what to do in an emergency? Are you ready to take care of yourself, your family, and neighborhood? Did the recent flooding in our community or the natural disasters happening around the globe spark your interest in obtaining training to have the skills to volunteer and give back to those in need? If so, consider joining the Mundelein Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) for a weekend of training on emergency preparedness.

People who go through CERT training have a better understanding of the potential threats to their home, workplace, and community and can take the right steps to lessen the effects of these hazards. Training is free to individuals 18 years of age or older (or those 16 and 17 years old with a permission slip and waiver from their parents). Individuals who complete the course and live within a 10-mile radius of the Village of Mundelein are invited to join the team, although this is not a requirement.

Training will take place at Mundelein Fire station #1 at 1000 N Midlothian. Dates and times for training are January 19. 6:00-10:00 pm, January 20, 8:00-4:00 pm, and January 21, 8:00-4:00 pm. Visit the Mundelein CERT website (http://www.cert.mundelein.org/training.html) or contact the fire station at 847-949-3260 to sign up for this in-depth valuable training. Please sign up by December 27, 2017 and follow us on facebook at http://fb.me/MundeleinCERT for emergency preparedness tips.
