For the past six years the Village of Mundelein has used an emergency notification system to alert area residents, organizations and businesses of emergency or safety situations.
The village has recently contracted with the Emergency Communications Network, Inc., of Ormond Beach, Florida, to provide an upgraded reverse notification system, Code Red.
This upgraded system enables the Police Department to issue a pre-recorded emergency message to areas as small a neighborhood block or as large as the entire village. With this Code Red system the department can issue important information like water boil orders or weather related emergency instructions to residents quickly and more efficiently.
Residents, businesses and organizations should not assume that they are included in the emergency notification system’s call list. All businesses or organizations located within the Village of Mundelein should register, as well as all residents who have unlisted phone numbers or who have changed their phone number or address within the last year and who use a cellular phone as their primary home phone. If you are interested in registering, you may register by clicking on the Code Red icon at the top of this page. This page can also be accessed by going to the Mundelein Police Department website at http://www.mundelein.org/police and clicking on the Code Red icon at the top of the page.
For those residents who do not have Internet access, please contact 847-968-3770.
