We are providing you the following information as a reminder to keep this winter and all winters safe and pleasurable.
Before you venture out onto the ice this winter, there are a few safety tips and guidelines that should be considered:
Always obey “No Swimming,” “No Trespassing,” and/or “No Skating” signs. These signs are posted because the body of water is unsafe for use at all times!
If skating or snowmobiling is allowed on a lake or pond, a responsible adult should always accompany children when using the area. Lakes that are sanctioned for winter recreation are posted with a flag system to advise people about the safety condition of the ice. ALWAYS OBEY THE POSTED FLAG.
Never walk on ice that is less than six inches thick. IF YOU CAN SEE WATER UNDER THE ICE, THE ICE IS NOT SAFE!
Never walk on ice covering a retention pond or other bodies of water not designed for recreational purposes.
The
motto for all ice outings should be:
BETTER
TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY
Antes de aventurarse a disfrutar el en hielo este invierno, usted debe considerar los siguientes consejos y reglas:
Siempre obedezca los letreros ("No Swimming, "No Trespassing," and/or "No Skating ")
"No Nadar," "No Traspasar," y/ó "No Patinar." ¡Estos letreros están localizados cerca de los lagos, y las lagunas ya que las aguas no son seguros todo el tiempo!
Si patinar o uso de vehículos motorizados sobre el hielo son permitidos, los niños deben estar siempre acompañados por una persona adulta. Los lagos que son sancionados para reacreaciones durante el invierno siempre tienen anuncios. Los anuncios son un sistema de banderas para prevenir el público acerca de la condición de la seguridad del hielo. SIEMPRE OBEDEZCA LOS LETREROS QUE ESTAN LOCALIZADO EN ESTOS LUGARES. (Porque esto significa peligro).
Nunca camine en el hielo que no tenga menos de 6 pulgadas de heilo. ¡SI USTED VE AGUA BAJO EL HIELO, SIGNIFICA QUE EL HIELO NO ES SEGURO!
Nunca se aventure a caminar en una laguna o lugar cubierto de hielo que no están designados para usos recreacionales.
El lema para recreaciones sobre el hielo debe ser:
¡MAS VALE PREVENIR QUE LAMENTAR!
