Mundelein Arts Commission to Host Popular Chalk Art Event during Community Days

Aspiring artists are encouraged to participate in the popular Chalk Art event hosted by the Mundelein Arts Commission. The event will take place on Monday, July 3 as part of the Mundelein Community Days festivities. Participants are invited to transform a parking spot at Kracklauer Park into your own masterpiece!

The event is free of charge, and adult participants (14+) will be provided with vibrant, professional-grade chalk, one parking spot, and blending rags. An area will be reserved for kids’ masterpieces as well, with 64 colors of Crayola chalk available for use. There will not be a specific contest or theme – artists of all varieties and skill levels are welcome to participate and express their creativity. Photos of the artwork and the artist will be featured on the Village website, www.mundelein.org, and in the weekly e-newsletter (with the artists’ permission).

Fifteen parking spots are available for the chalk art event (kids’ area is unlimited). To guarantee a spot, please sign-up in advance by contacting Aurelia Spicuzza at aspicuzza@email.mundelein.org, or by calling (847) 949-3289. Remaining spots will be first-come, first-serve. In the event of rain or other inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.
