Every year members of the law enforcement community raise money to support participants and volunteers at the local, regional, state, and world Special Olympic Games. The Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run started in 1986 and raised $10,000. In 2016 more than $4 million was raised, Illinois is ranked #3 in the world, the Mundelein Police Department is ranked #10 in Illinois raising $38,056.11. Our 2017 goal is to raise $40,000. Special Olympics is a 501c3 organization so donations qualify for a charitable deduction.
