SBA Office of Disaster Assistance Seeking Temporary Help

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Disaster Assistance is currently seeking people who may be interested in working for the organization on a temporary basis helping homeowners and businesses recover after disasters. With recovery efforts underway in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands, it is clear the damage and devastation from Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria will reach historic levels. Homes, businesses, and lives have been uprooted by the sheer force of nature, affecting millions of people.

After FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is the federal government's primary source of money to help homeowners, renters, businesses, and non-profit organizations recover from disasters.

The road to recovery from these epic disasters will be a long and arduous journey. SBA is preparing to process an extraordinary number of disaster loan applications, and we have already hired hundreds of additional staff to help process these loans. However, demand for SBA assistance is expected to escalate quickly. To ensure SBA’s disaster team is ready to respond quickly to meet that demand, we need to tap every resource available. That’s why we are looking for additional staff to aid in our efforts.

Key positions of need are:
• Loan specialists
• Damage Verifiers
• Lawyers, paralegals, and legal assistants

Bilingual language skills are a plus! This is an amazing opportunity to serve your country and those most in need. Please share with your professional network and others who may be able to assist in this critical effort.
