MPD: Follow Shelter In Place Order

Post Date:03/26/2020

MPD Emphatically Reminds Residents to Abide by Governor’s Shelter In Place Order

The Mundelein Police Department needs everyone’s assistance during this difficult time of social distancing. The MPD reports they have received a significant increase in complaints regarding violations of the Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order to shelter in place, not congregate in groups, and to practice social distancing.

“We still see our youth gathering in parks and in groups, which is a direct violation of the shelter in place order and social distancing. We are in this together and everyone needs to do their part by complying with the Governor’s order.  Please stop gathering. It is time to take this seriously,” said Police Chief Eric Guenther.

Please be aware that Mundelein parks may be used for individual exercise, but group activities of any kind will be dispersed. The MPD asks for the community’s assistance as enforcement is not the MPD’s preferred course of action.  If necessary, however, they will act.
