Grants Available… Applications DUE: April 1!
This is an unprecedented time period for everyone, and we know this crisis has had a devastating impact on many local businesses. The Village of Mundelein will continue to provide information and resources regarding the Covid-19 emergency via its website; however, we are providing this direct communication to all Mundelein restaurants, bars, and hotels due to the short application time period for one available opportunity.
We want to direct your immediate attention to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s (DCEO) Hospitality Emergency Grant Program. This is a grant and not a loan; however, applications must be received by 5 p.m. on April 1st to be considered for the lottery selection of this grant. More information about this opportunity can be found below.
Additionally, we have included a PowerPoint presentation created by the College of Lake County’s Illinois Small Business Development & International Trade Center to this email which provides additional information on several other loan and grant opportunities.
Please read on for more information on how to apply for this grant:
Hospitality Emergency Grant Program (Applications Due by April 1, 2020)
To help hospitality (restaurants, bars, and hotels) businesses make ends meet in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, DCEO is launching the Hospitality Emergency Grant Program with $14 million drawn from funds originally budgeted for job training, tourism promotion, and other purposes. Grant funds are available to support working capital like payroll and rent, as well as job training, retraining, and technology to support shifts in operations, like increased pick-up and delivery. Bars and restaurants that generated between $500K and $1M in revenue in 2019 are eligible for up to $25,000, and bars and restaurants that generated less than $500K in revenue in 2019 are eligible for up to $10,000. Hotels that generated less than $8M in revenue in 2019 are eligible for up to $50,000. Loans will be given after a lottery process. Application deadline for the lottery is April 1, 2020.
