Mayor Lentz Congratulates MHS Class of 2020

To the Mundelein High School Graduating Class of 2020:

Class of 2020—this is a year unlike any other and this is the year you earned a high school diploma. No one can take this accomplishment from you. You have endured adversity, and this most certainly has made you stronger. I share your pride in your accomplishments and your joy at the prospects that lie ahead. On behalf of the entire Village of Mundelein Board of Trustees, I congratulate you on this momentous achievement.

The meaning of graduation is much more than a physical stage, and nothing can diminish the accomplishments you have achieved during your four-year journey at Mundelein High School.  I acknowledge that nothing can replace the special milestones lost during this unprecedented crisis, but you deserve to be celebrated for your hard work.  I believe you are destined to accomplish your goals and the entire Village of Mundelein stands with you, cheering you on.

The path to success does not end here but rather, moves to a different direction. You are already navigating many new rules. Continue to create and innovate. Continue to do what you can with what you have. Find your place in our community and in the world. As you consider the next steps, apply the lessons you have learned during you Mundelein High School journey.  Share your talents with the world and perfect them. We need you.

No one makes it to graduation alone. For this reason, I acknowledge and congratulate your parents, teachers, and all your mentors along the way who helped you achieve this milestone. Now that you are equipped of your well-deserved high school diploma, you are about to begin another stage in your lives.

As you navigate your path forward, keep believing in yourselves and I feel confident you will turn your dreams of success in life into reality. Again, congratulations on your graduation and I wish you a bright, happy, and fulfilling future.

Steve Lentz, Mayor
