Mundelein Business Appreciation Breakfast

February 15, 2018

In recognition of the important contributions the business community makes to the economic vitality of our community, the Mundelein Economic Development Commission will host its annual Business Appreciation and Networking Breakfast on February 15, 2018 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Doubletree Hotel, 510 East Route 83, Mundelein. All Mundelein business owners, managers, and staff are welcome and encouraged to attend.

This year’s keynote speakers are Erik Brejla, Assistant Deputy Director of Foreign Direct Investment and Site Selection for the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DECO) and Mark Peterson, President and CEO of Intersect Illinois.

Erik Brejla (DECO) and Mark Peterson (Intersect Illinois) have a strong partnership committed to promoting Illinois and changing the business landscape through economic development and job creation. Last year, Village Staff heard this duo give an exciting and informative presentation to Lake County Partners. Staff found the content of their presentation to be of great relevance to the Mundelein business community and contacted the two to see if they would be willing to bring their message to the 2018 Business Appreciation Breakfast. Expect to hear reasons why Illinois is still a premier state for business and how the teams at DECO and Intersect Illinois can help forge new business opportunities.

At the breakfast meeting, Mayor Steve Lentz, will address economic development and business development in Mundelein. Additionally, Mayor Lentz and Village Administrator John Lobaito will take questions from the audience on issues regarding State and Local government.

“This event has grown in popularity over the years. It provides the opportunity for EDC members, Mayor Lentz, the Village Trustees and Village Staff to thank the business community for their contributions to Mundelein and share information on a number of important issues impacting business in the year ahead,” explains Village Administrator, John Lobaito.

A continental breakfast will be provided. As in previous years, the Mundelein Business Alliance has organized a local business showcase featuring Mundelein companies to promote its primary objective of promoting Mundelein businesses.

“We think it’s important to reach out to our business community and let them know we appreciate their investment in Mundelein. We want to share with them the positive strides we continue to make to enhance the Village. There are many new projects on the horizon that we are very excited to share with our business partners,” Lobaito said.

There is no charge for this event, however reservations are required. Please RSVP by February 12 to Ann Watson, Administrative Assistant, at 847-949-3282 or at awatson@mundelein.org(link sends e-mail).
